2025 marks our second year of producing maple syrup using biomass combustion - burning renewable agricultural residues instead of fossil fuels.
Today, 90% of maple syrup is produced with fossil fuels, requiring up to half a litre of oil per litre of syrup. By embracing biomass combustion, the maple syrup industry has the potential to shift away from its reliance on oil and toward a more sustainable future.
